This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project would support all three second grade classrooms at our school. As part of our Life Science and habitats science standard, we learn about the life cycle of plant and animals. We focus on the life cycle of a bean and the life cycle of a butterfly. We sprout beans, and would love your help in bring students butterflies to observe their favorite life cycle in real time!

2 years ago, we hatched butterflies and for many of our students it was their favorite memory from second grade.

Unfortunately, this year we did not have room in the budget to get butterflies for students. These kits and models will help us continue this annual tradition and support students hands on experience with science.
