This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students are the brightest innovative bunch from our Chicago neighborhood! Our bilingual Kindergarten class is full of students who show spontaneity, flexibility, honesty and limitless potential!
Even though many of us come from a high need area with low SES backgrounds, we strive to become the best and brightest by encouraging students to look beyond their borders at their potential as future leaders!
We are a small school with only 2 kindergarten classrooms but we have big goals and a growth mindset that won't quit! Single parent homes, trauma, limited incomes and other constantly changing challenges can be frustrating for me and my students but we persevere and I believe in having high expectations and aspirations for my students.
We personalize learning and create a safe space for our students in my school. I am always looking for ways to engage in inquiry-based learning to become better thinkers.
My Project
My students need resources to help them interact with and understand the life cycles in a fun interactive way. We will be learning about the life cycles of several different insects and animals as well as plants and these materials with help students show what they know.
The instant learning centers and specimens will give students the chance to 'figure out' rather than 'learn about' life cycles in a more meaningful way.
Help push our learning over the top with these fun colorful read aloud books as well as vocabulary readers which will be used throughout the classroom to keep the learning interwoven through our day.
