This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help us purchase live butterflies, ladybugs, and praying mantis so that these little scientists can observe these insect life cycles. Students will watch the caterpillars change into a chrysalis and then emerge into a butterfly right before their eyes.

The students will watch the caterpillars grow, change into chrysalis, and help them fly free when they are butterflies in our garden.

They will look at the ladybugs eat aphids from our tomato plants. These real-life interactions with the insects in our class will bring science to life. It allows them to better connect with the nonfiction readers that will be used during small group instruction. Students will continue their learning as they make butterfly artwork. They will also extend their learning as they work on bug puzzles as a team..
