My students need computer mice in order to better use the chrome books and cases for them so that the computers are more safe.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Despite the hurdles they face, my second grades have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Most of them come from low income house holds with parents that don't speak English and yet they are almost all above grade level. Although we don't have top of the line supplies they are very resourceful with what they have. These students are extremely bright and love learning just about everything! Every lesson I teach is gobbled up by them and they are left wanting for more.
Many of the students in my class have been labeled gifted, and there are many times that they end up teaching me things because of the wonderful way their mind works.
They constantly challenge me, which pleases me to no end.
My Project
Having laptops in our classroom has improved our classroom learning greatly. There are so many things that the students can now do that they weren't able to do before, however they are still a bit limited.
Since our laptops did not come with mice the children often struggle with using the mouse pad for certain activities.
Not only are they not use to them, the sensitivity of the mouse pad can sometimes cause them to click the wrong answer even when they are trying to click the right one. With a mouse for each laptop the children can feel more confident in using the laptops and get frustrated less since the answers they are trying to click will get clicked.
There is also the issue of safety. More then one of my students have expressed their fear of dropping the laptops, which was something I had never thought of when ordering them. I think that it is a good investment to get some sturdy cases for the laptop, just for the students peace of mind as well as the safety of the laptops.
