it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students live by the C.A.R.E.S. core values - Caring, Appreciative, Responsible, Empathetic and Steadfast. All of our students show grit and determination even in the face of uncertainty. But after the previous year we want to make sure that we are focusing on helping our children grow into thinkers, doers and risk takers but we need to address the basic needs of our students……hunger.
Please help me in keeping snacks around so that our students have energy to make it through a long day of learning!
My Project
It’s hard to concentrate when we arrive at school so early for breakfast and have lunch much later in the day! I see how my students become - irritable and off task- when they get pangs of hunger.
I am requesting snacks so my students can make it to lunch after a long morning of learning.
Often, a little snack gives us a chance to re-group, provides energy and the stamina to continue on with our work. Many of my students do not come to school with a daily snack. Sometimes they are embarrassed to ask a friend to share.
I try to keep a few snacks aside but can quickly go through my stash if several students are in need of a little pick me up. Having a larger inventory will allow me to reach more students and provide for any child in need.
