My Students

My students are very eager to learn and read! They are always so excited to make a trip to the library, and their eyes light up when they get a book that interests them.

I have a very diverse class.

I have some students who are reading on grade level or above, and I have some students who are far below grade level. At my school, we only have a chance to take the students to the library once a week, and they are only allowed to get two books at a time.

My Project

If we have enough donations to buy these books, my students will be able to choose new books to take home every night to read. Right now, the students do not know what books to select from the school library, because they are not leveled based on Fountas and Pinnell guided reading levels.

This project will definitely make a difference.

My students will be able to apply their phonics skills we learn in class to grow as readers. In first grade, students are expected to make the most growth, in reading, and this project will help us meet our goal.
