Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have moderate to severe disabilities and range from the ages of 17-21. My students are all so loving and humble. All of my students come from a low socioeconomic community and our school, for most, is the only thing they know outside of their homes.

My students love to come to school every day and ultimately they love to learn!

I want to help my students learn independent and daily living skills. My goal for the students is to help them become independent young adults. I will work with them to help them grow to their fullest potential!

My Project

If my project if fully funded I will continue to teach my students daily living skills that all students should be able to acquire. We will teach my students functional living skills they need before they leave a formal educational setting. I want to be able to increase the independence skills my students need to be able to be as independent as possible.

My goal is to boost their independence and build their confidence.

Increasing their confidence will benefit them in the future to be able to be as independent as possible.

I will teach my student how to tie their own shoes and button their own pants. I will also teach them to separate and fold laundry correctly with some of these items.
