I have a beautiful diverse group of 8 to 10 year olds!
They are amazing in so many ways! They are kind, compassionate, helpful, creative and active! I have children who come from all walks of life. They need me to see THEM....to see who THEY are! My job is to do just that! I want them to grow in all ways this year.....academically, socially, physically, and emotionally! I want them to develop confidence and self worth!
My Project
My amazing students are excited to come to school everyday! They have busy little bodies and active minds! They need some tools to help them stay focused and engaged throughout the long school day. Flexible seating choices like wobble stools, laptop stands, stability discs and peanut balls help my students who have poor core strength focus on the task at hand. Timers give them a visual and help them with their time management. The variety of fidgets give their hands something to do, so their minds can listen to lessons. I am a parent of a child with sensory processing disorder (SPD), and I have several students in my classroom every year with SPD, Autism, or ADHD. This has made me passionate about finding and utilizing tools to help these children be as successful as their peers.
