My Project

Transitional and life skills are skills needed for students with special needs in order to gain employment and live a more productive life post-graduation.

The life skills we practice with our Coffee Shop include following a recipe, sequencing steps in an activity, fulfilling an order, appropriate social skills, sharing, peer-to-peer work, basic number recognition, reading and comprehension, and health and hygiene protocol are invaluable to these learners.

We would like to access a water supply so that we can have access to fresh water to brew our coffees and teas. Having this water cooler would be so helpful for our baristas to have water in our physical learning community. Our Coffee Cart has been a huge success and a highlight of our school community. The goal is to donate profits each week to our school community fund for families in need. We received such great feedback from our staff community about our coffee shop thus far. The students feel amazing when the teacher compliments their hard work. A simple cup of coffee has brought our community closer together. Now we would like to have the tools to expand our business and help our community in different ways all year long!
