This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Inquisitive minds, warm hearts, helpful hands, and sponges for brains. These are just some of the ways you could describe the students that walk through our classroom doors each day.

Our students, with limited English skills, live in a high-poverty, big-city community where the goal is to help them blossom into productive learners and speakers.

Their willingness to work hard and achieve is evident in all that they do. They may come from homes where paying the rent and buying food is the priority. Therefore, it is so important for us to support them in as many ways as we can to give them every chance to succeed.

My Project

My students need paper for a variety of projects, assignments, and to fully utilize the computers during research. Paper can be used for something as simple as a Mother's Day card to something more complex as printing out a student's interpretation of the second amendment to the Constitution before presenting to the class.

Do you remember when people thought computers would decrease our use of paper?

Well, we probably all realize that is not what happened. The students use paper to investigate the formula for area of a triangle by determining the area of a piece of rectangular paper then cutting it on the diagonal. They use paper to record their observations during science experiments. The list goes on and on. Paper is still an integral part of education every day.
