This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are all unique in their own way. They each come with an exciting life story or experience they've been through. At such young ages, my kids have all seen so much, such as losing a parent or growing up in foster care. My students need to have access to more learning materials and technology in order for them to see that learning can indeed be fun. Reading books is a daily activity in my classroom, so what better way to incorporate more exciting sources for reading than having two well needed Chromebooks added to our class. My project will impact my students by getting them to read more and enjoy what they are reading. This project will welcome more learning games and progress monitoring websites so that I can track data more easily. I want to create real-life readers that are prepared for real-world. On top of pushing reading my students will be introduced to an Accelerated Reader program where they will earn points for reading as they reach a specific goal.

My Project

The requested Chromebooks will assist in allowing my students easier access to computers. We will have our own class pair of Chromebooks to rely on whenever we need them. Children in today's society are so technology driven and lose their attention rather quickly with paper and books. Having these chromebooks will definitely have an impact on how much my students engage when it comes to their learning. My students will be able to utilize learning games online, take AR tests and also learn how to type, while improving literacy gaps. I want them to be successful and I need the use of technology in my classroom to do so.
