My Students
I teach and coach 6th-8th grade students. My students are from low socioeconomic homes, and the majority live in poverty-stricken neighborhoods. Most of my students come to school in uniform, even if their uniforms need a little extra TLC, which I willingly give. My students are loving and eager to learn new things. They look forward to releasing their energy on the volleyball and basketball court after school. All of our players are dedicated to being students first and athletes second. They just need support to help develop their craft in academics and sports.
My Project
As the volleyball coach at my school, I have noticed my players put on clean uniforms pieces to cover up stained school uniform pieces. It is necessary for them to cover up as we travel from school to school for games.
As the volleyball players advance in the season, they are having to wear their school uniform pants over their game shorts as we travel to away games and it is a bit uncomfortable.
We would like to get every player a pair of uniform shorts that are comfortable and athletic. We would like to look like a team whenever we visit other schools. Please help us achieve this goal.
