Bump, Set, and Spike Into Learning

My Students

My students are 21st-century learners who are constantly seeking knowledge. They are growing up in a fast paced informational world. Most of their day is spent inside a classroom in a sedentary way. When they are given opportunities to move around and stimulate their brains, they get energized and excited about the things they still have to learn. I want to encourage them to be more active students by helping them learn about team sports that are not traditionally offered at the elementary level.

My Project

My students are creative and energetic learners who are looking for fun ways to get more activity in their day. The Molten youth volleyballs from this project will help us to start a new team at our elementary campus. Our goal is to help students learn new volleyball skills, develop sportsmanship, and build self-confidence before they have to join competition teams in middle school. Coaches will mentor students about how their new skills can transfer in the classroom towards positive academic success. Volleyball is not a predominate youth sport in our area so the students are excited for the opportunity to form their own team. The experiences they will share together will not only build them up athletically, but will also help them learn what it means to be part of a team, and build life long memories.

The seven volleyballs and carrying bag will be used to jump start our team resources. Students will be able to use the skills for weekly practices and to challenge other teams to matches. We appreciate your support and can't wait to get our team up and running and to allow our students to experience the positive aspects of team sports.
