This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am an early education teacher. My students are aged birth to three and all have delays in some areas. All are visually impaired or blind, and most have additional cognitive or motor delays. Early education is essential as it is during these early years that we teachers and parents can provide extra services and support in order to help the child grow as much as possible in all developmental areas.
Visually impaired babies in particular need to be exposed to various fabrics and textures as well as music and movement so they can develop skills needed to read Braille in the future; These Bumble Balls offer these!
My students can learn to watch the Bumble Ball as it "dances" around, touch and explore the various textures, and orient to the music. These are exactly the skills a baby or infant with visual impairments needs.
