Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember being in first grade? It should be the most unbelievable time in your life...if you have friends.
My students are hard-working and motivated individuals.
Ours is a Title One school with 99% second-language learners. Currently, they do not have a running computer lab or a working computer in my classroom which limits their access to reading, math and other important standards-based online lessons. I do not want my students to miss out on these opportunities due to budget cuts.
My Project
I am requesting the book Bullying in Schools to get ideas and foster discussions with my students. I am also asking for lapboards, journals, and colored pencils so that students can write and draw about their feelings. I would like to be able to give them family homework in their new folder. It is a family issue if there is bullying! The sad thing is that some kids don't know any better. They don't know the right thing to do. Many just need to be taught. It is for this reason that I would like to teach about bullying and friendship.
This project is important to my 24 students who need to love to come to school!
They should feel safe and comfortable in my class. They should know what is right and wrong and express themselves. Please help me create this environment.
