My students need bulling books, as well as magic boards, and hands on math manipulative's to help them build their sharing skills and deter bulling behavior.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever been teased or bullied? Chances are that everyone has had an incident when their feelings were hurt and you didn't know how to deal with it. Which is why I want to help my students learn how to combat bullying and help them deal with their emotions

I have the pleasure of being the teacher to 21 smart, enthusiastic 1st grade students.

Students who are excited to learn, and are gaining the necessary skills needed to become life long learners. 100% of my students participate in the free lunch program. They come from low income working class families that live in the greater Los Angeles area.

My Project

The items that I am requesting will help my students and I continue our quest for a Bully Free Zone! The magic boards, and math games will be a great additions to our math center. These resources will foster positive peer relationships and help my students work together while learning to share, and taking turns. These items will also aid in collaborative learning and teamwork. The books on bullying such as Ant and the Big Bad Bully Goat, and Berenstain Bears and the Bully Jan Berenstain will be great resources to have when using literature to discuss the topic of bullying in an age appropriate manner. In addition, the book Bullying in Schools will be a helpful tool for me to use to create a positive learning environment for my students.

By supporting this project you will be providing center materials and books for my students that will help promote sharing and positive interactions.

You will also be helping my students, and myself put bullying behaviors to an end.
