Bulletin Boards

Help me give my students bulletin boards to display their work in the hallway of our school, and create a sense of pride and ownership of our school.

My Project

Our school currently has a thin line of cork that lines the school hallways for teachers to use for displaying student work. This cork is at adult level eye sight throughout the school. Kindergarten teachers don’t have any cork or bulletin boards outside of their classrooms, and have glued clothes pins to the walls to hang students’ artwork on.

It is important for students to be able to see their work in the hallway because it fosters a sense of ownership of their work effort at school.

When their work is hung up, they notice it, and are excited to share it with others. When students have a sense of ownership in their work, they are driven to work hard in the classroom, and persevere through challenges in their learning. In addition, bulletin boards in the hallways will create a sense of positivity as students walk through the school. They will be excited to see what other students at school are doing, and it will create enthusiasm for learning at school.
