My students need over 20 novels that are part of the common core curriculum. We are using the Reading Wonders Series, which includes "Project Mulberry", "The Skirt", "Happy Birthday", "Martin Luther King Jr." plus "The Cricket in Times Square". These will be the best companion pieces for further reading.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Read! Read! Read! Did you know that reading is a jumping off point for so many other things? Inspirations can come from anywhere! We need new novels to challenge my students. Help us bulk up our classroom library, so that our class can continue to reach new heights.
My class is full of students who love to read whenever they get the chance.
Recently, my students went through our classroom library and picked out the books that were below their reading level. They waned to help other classrooms in our school who needed more books so that they can get excited about reading. They want everyone to love reading as much as them!

Miami-Dade County adopted a new reading series called Reading Wonders to go along with Common Core Curriculum. The great thing about it is that I can tie in more novels with my lessons as an added resource. These books are the ones suggested by the series that correlate with each unit that the students are learning in class.
I think that the more variety we give our students, the better chance we have in expanding their interest and engaging them.
My students are gifted and extremely smart. Their biggest enemy is boredom. These books will not only keep them engaged and wanting to learn, but the books can be used with students for years to come. You never know what will inspire the the next big idea!
