My Students
I teach kindergarten students in a Title I school in Jamaica Queens. I have already learned that they are a lively bunch with big hearts and growing minds! My students love exploring and questioning their environment around them. One of their favorite activities is centers. They work hard throughout the day to earn center time. The students love working together in groups to complete activities. They are intrigued by technology and enjoy using the smart board we have in the classroom.
My Project
Technology has become a major part of our world. Many students in my district do not have access to technology in their low income homes. With the use of Fire tablets my students will have the opportunity to use technology in several ways. Students will be able to use tablets during center time to practice reading, phonics, and math skills. Additionally, fire tablets can assist the English language learning students in my classroom to better communicate with their peers. We have a school with a high population of behavior issues as well. Tablets are a wonderful incentive for those students who struggle to get through tasks.
