My Project
I am requesting a set of Makedo cardboard construction tools and building kits for my classroom. These innovative, kid-safe tools allow students to transform recycled cardboard into creative, large-scale projects such as robots, vehicles, and architectural models. The Makedo system includes safe saws, scrus (connectors), screwdrivers, and hinges, giving students real building experience without dangerous tools. These materials will support open-ended STEM learning and develop collaboration, engineering, and design skills.
My Blended Pre-K students are eager to build, invent, and problem-solve, but we lack the materials to support real-world making.
Many don’t have access to tools at home, and Makedo allows them to safely work with cardboard in a hands-on, creative way.
These tools will give all students, regardless of background or ability, the chance to become engineers and designers. This project promotes equity in STEM and inspires kids to see themselves as makers.
