This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My Kindergarten students with special needs are awesome! They are diverse learners who love learning! They are active, fun-loving, creative, and curious! We are in a large urban district and my students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and abilities, but they all love school! Benjamin Franklin said, "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn!" My goal to always involve and engage my students in learning! My students love and derive the most benefit from "hands on" and movement activities.

My Project

The road to success is under construction in our special education kindergarten and building a bustling town will challenge my students to work as a team and be successful together. My students love trains and this classic hardwood train set will provide hours of opportunities for my students to work together to build and arrange the tracks and town in a myriad of different ways. They will engage in this fun cooperative learning experience that involves planning, building, analyzing, rebuilding, and sharing materials. Each set includes 34 easy-fit wooden track pieces, 8 train cars, plus plenty of buildings, cars, traffic signs and more to create a community.
