Building With Stem Bins

Help me give my students opportunity to explore the world with Stem bins. Stem opportunities equips students with skills in critical thinking, problem solving, creative and collaborative. It establishes connections between the school, work place, and community.

My Students

Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and flexible seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group. I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year! Let’s make this year the best year yet.

My Project

I have a class full of eager learners this year. I am always looking for opportunities to expand their knowledge of the world. STEM Bins are plastic containers filled with simple engineering manipulatives. They contain photo task cards of real world structures and challenge students to use the items in the bins to create and invent as many structures as possible. Elementary school is the perfect time to introduce the engineering design process through simple STEM activities because it builds on children’s natural curiosities to create. That’s why I want to create STEM Bins for my students. I want to provide an invitation for children to explore and engineer through play using these materials.
