Building Well-Rounded Pre-K Students Means Providing a Well-Rounded Classroom Environment

My Project
We are a play-based Pre-K classroom. Within our classroom, we set up different learning centers such as the block center, dramatic play, science, and art center.
Students are inventive and creative with what we have in our class and I can only imagine the capabilities of our students when provided with more materials connected to each area of study.
We need more materials to engage student interests as we change areas of study throughout the school year. We can use the X-rays on our light table while we learn about the body and use magnifying glasses to look at various specimens at the science center. In addition to hands-on learning with blocks and manipulatives, games such as Twister and Candyland will support students in learning colors, numbers, and social skills like taking turns.
Our youngest learners are always looking forward to learning about the world around them. Our classroom gives them a chance to be immersed in what we are learning when we transform our dramatic play center into a doctor's office or building a city in our block center. These materials will help build our classroom and support our students to be well-rounded as they learn and make connections throughout the year.
