Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are curious, creative, and eager to communicate—but many need targeted support to build their speech, language, and literacy skills. By integrating engaging materials into both small group speech therapy sessions and collaborative in-class lessons, we can give students authentic opportunities to practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in meaningful contexts.

This project will provide engaging, hands-on materials and resources that connect speech and language goals directly to reading, comprehension, and literacy development.

With the right tools, we can target reading, vocabulary, syntax, comprehension and articulation in ways that are fun, interactive, and aligned with literacy standards.

With the help of these resources, students will not only improve their communication skills, but also develop confidence and a love for learning. These materials will be used with children from Kindergarten through 5th grade, in both English and bilingual settings, ensuring accessibility and cultural inclusivity.

With your support, students will gain tools and experiences that make language learning fun, meaningful, and connected to their everyday lives. They will leave each session not only with improved skills, but with a sense of accomplishment and joy in their progress.
