This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The project provides level-appropriate, hands-on tools designed to integrate STEM into my transitional kindergarten curriculum in a way that captivates my students' imaginations. It includes a programmable robot that introduces students to cause and effect, helping them understand key concepts in technology and problem-solving. The innovative sets based on fairy tales will encourage creativity and critical thinking, as students use them to explore the design process and tackle challenges. These interactive resources will help students build foundational skills in science, engineering, and math while fostering their ability to think independently and work collaboratively.
The goal of this project is to empower my students to actively engage in STEM learning through interactive, real-world problem-solving experiences.
I aim to spark a love for science and innovation at an early age, helping students develop critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills. I want to create a classroom environment where every student has access to the tools and resources needed to build confidence in their abilities, closing learning gaps caused by the pandemic. Ultimately, I hope this project will lay a solid foundation for lifelong learning and exploration in STEM fields.
My students are a diverse group of young learners who bring their curiosity, creativity, and resilience to the classroom every day. Many come from underprivileged backgrounds, yet they show incredible enthusiasm for hands-on learning and problem-solving. This group thrives in environments where they can explore, create, and collaborate. By providing them with the tools from the Lakeshore STEM bundle, I can help them develop the skills they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond, setting them on a path to discover their potential in STEM fields and beyond. This project will give my students the opportunity to learn in new and exciting ways, fostering a love for learning that will last a lifetime.
