My Project

My public preschool class has students ages 3 to 5. We work on many skills to prepare them for Kindergarten. These materials, the busy activity board, scooter board, dart board, and pogo jumpers, will help our students focus on their gross motor development which will help them be ready to write in Kindergarten. The materials will help them with throwing, pushing, and pulling to build up their shoulder, elbow, wrist, and finger strength.

Gross motor skills are important because they help children learn how to coordinate and control their body movements.

With preschool students, it is important to lay a strong foundation of gross motor skills because they use these skills to complete fine motor skill movements such as pinching and grasping, which are needed for writing.
