This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My first graders love to come to school and learn. This year I started using and following the "Building Thinking Classrooms" model. This is where my students work in random groupings to solve curricular and non-curricular tasks. My students cannot wait to work around the room. These plastic sleeves will be used to place around my classroom with a variety of different tasks placed inside the pocket. Some will require them to solve mathematical problems and others will be thinking tasks that do not require math skills. The dual marker will be for each set of partners to use. They have to learn to work together to accomplish the task. With one pen, it is easy to see both colors on the board. This helps me to see both students are working on the task together. These supplies will be used for next year's first-grade students.
