My students are creative thinkers and problem solvers. They come from all over the world and work in my class to solve complex issues and create wonderful projects.
My students are passionate, talented, and caring, and work hard to learn and grow.
As part of a talented and gifted program, my students agree to do extra work throughout the year in order to expand their minds and what they know of the world. They learn about diverse topics, including 3D printing, Educational Disparities, and The Global Workplace. These topics prepare them for the world ahead of them, and by starting to learn these things in middle school, they are prepared to be global citizens in a changing world.
My Project
My students are critical thinkers who need to be challenged with reading. They need books that ask ethical questions, like Ender's Game, and that tell them history that has been glossed over, like Hidden Figures. They need stories with characters that they can relate to and also hold their interest.
My students are diverse thinkers who want to tackle difficult concepts.
These books will help me approach these concepts with them in the coming years. The students will be able to engage with them in an effective way that helps build their reading, writing, and literary analysis skills. Many of them already read for fun, and this will give them new directions and new ideas!
