Building the Program

My students need a health care kit, high step agility trainer, step over dummies, agility training hurdle, agility ladders, cold packs, band-aids, kicking blocks and resistance parachutes to keep moving.

My Students

We are a small title one district that struggles with numbers for sports. The students want to work to change all of that. The students continue to ask, "What can we do to build our program? " "How can we get more classmates involved and moving?" Our community and school are supportive but we need more than that to be successful.

We need to capture the students' attention and get them moving.

The team feels we need to encourage everyone to get out and play. Without enough equipment or the right equipment it is difficult to keep everyone moving.

The students had a meeting and decided that they needed to be built up to match the physical abilities of other teams. The students on the sports teams are out there each day trying to give it their all to be the best that they can be. The players told me that what they lack is the equipment to keep the players moving at each practice and built to stand up to the competition. It was great to hear them voice their thoughts about what they could use to go that extra mile.

My Project

I asked the students, "How can we get more students involved?" The students replied, " More equipment will provide more movement time instead of stand around time." The students said that when they can display the positives of the program they will be able to get more students involved. With enough equipment to help the players build up their agility skills and stay healthy the players will be able to keep up with the other teams and move towards the end zone. The students are asking, "Can we get some new equipment that we can use during practice that will help to improve our agility and skills?" They are asking to increase their activity time during the practice. The agility ladders will help with footwork and endurance. The resistance parachutes will help build leg strength and speed. The kicking blocks will help the kickers with their distance when kicking a ball. The health kit will provide proper supplies if an injury occurs. The step over dummies will help with side to side movement. More equipment gets more kids moving.

A well rounded athlete is ready for the win!If more students join the team they can show that strength comes in numbers. The students are asking for the equipment to keep the program alive. The students want to encourage others to come out and show their "PRIDE" for the school and get moving to feel good about their accomplishments.
