This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

California rocks and rolls! I have been teaching fourth grade for twenty years now, and I love it! My students learn to love novels about our state, as well as the rich history it has.

The students in my class range from extremely gifted in many areas to kids who participate in language programs and special education services.

I try to provide challenge to all students through the use of many different resources. Donorschoose has allowed me to do that. I appreciate the opportunity to acquire funding and resources to support my classroom!

My Project

My classroom is in need of STEM accessories to help the students design and engineer items during science centers. All of my students love Legos, and will be excited to use them in centers. The products are student-friendly, and can be used by students with special needs as well as gifted students.

My students will will in pairs or small groups to design and build with the Lego set.

The Lego set will allow the students to experience collaboration which is necessary to be college and career ready. This product will also increase the engagement of my students when working on their own and provide opportunity for using creativity and critical thinking skills.
