Ms. Olenja from Greenville SC is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a Vex GTT Robotics Kit in order to learn and compete in the competitions with their peers across the southeast region.

At Berea Middle we believe hard work pays off. My students have worked tremendously hard to complete various tasks & challenges in our Robotics Club, however, without the requested technology, they will not be able to compete in forthcoming competitions. You can insure these students have a chance.
My students face so many challenges, but they realize that education is the vehicle to drive them towards a more promising future.
With so many issues, it is my mission as their educator to take them away and rescue them from their pressing worries through the joys of meaningful experiences and exposure to what life has to offer. Our school is 90% poverty stricken. We do not take this rank as an excuse to have a pity party, but rather as a means of motivation. We strive to plant seeds of hope and reassure the students that education is the key that unlocks the doors of opportunity and future success. By understanding that there is more to life than what meets the eye, it is my belief that my students will do what it takes to beat the odds and defy the statistics. My students will embrace the world of education and all it has to offer.
Using the Vex Robot Starter Kit students will apply fundamental skills of engineering and design, programming and robotics to build competitive robots. Students will continue to grow as 21st Century learners by having to identify the problem and work as a team to work within the given constraints to build competition worthy robots!
The mission of FIRST Robotics is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skill.
FIRST Robotics works to inspire innovation and foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership. Thank you for your consideration!
