My Students
I work at a school where 61% of the students receive free or reduced lunch. My class is an integrated prekindergarten room, which consists of students aged 3 to 5 years old. The class consists of 30% students who have Individualized Education Plans. The students are learning through investigation, exploration, and building their curiosity through a science based curriculum every day. Their success is vibrant through their dedication, perseverance, and above all their smiles through the numerous unit-learning projects we have completed. Some ending projects include, creating a “save the millipedes” video that was broadcast on our daily news to the whole school, to working with Scholastic Books to publish a book about “Building Around the World.” My ultimate goal is to build every students’ love for learning, and to keep enriching my students’ lives to help assist them in building the best educational foundation I can.
My Project
What was your favorite board game as a kid? Was it Don't Spill the Beans? How about the Cootie Game? We can all remember at least one of our favorite board games at young kids, and my hope is to bring some of that love for games into the classroom.
Through these games students will learn to build problem-solving skills, learn to work collaboratively with other peers, and learn sportsmanship as well.
These skills are essential for students to be success not only in school, but for the rest of their lives. Using games like Don't Spill the Beans Game, Humpty Dumpty's Wall Game, Don't Break the Ice Game, and others, students will get the opportunity to engage in fun hands-on learning activities while promoting attributes to become success in all future endeavors.
