My Students
Building connections between old and new knowledge helps enlighten and enhance learning. Classroom discussions help broaden my students' knowledge base about the topics and ideas we're studying. Although my students attend a Title I school, they love working together, discussing new topics, as well as making connections between what they're learning and the real world.
My students range in abilities and languages spoken--they are diverse learners who need a variety of teaching strategies to help them learn.
My students come to school eager to learn from various living situations such as single parents, foster homes, homeless shelters, or extended family living.
Despite their varying home lives, they come to school with a zest for learning.
My Project
School is a place where students come to learn. Unfortunately for many of them, they don't have the essential supplies needed in order to be successful. Having the classroom stocked with pencils, erasers, poly folders, colored pencils, markers, and white paper helps alleviate the stress they feel. They can easily access them whenever they need them for projects and assignments, as well as use them across subjects and for homework. Classroom projects can be brought to life with the use of colored pencils and markers. Students are able to express their creativity without being hindered by not having what they need.
The last thing students should worry about is whether or not they have a pencil.
With your help and support, my students will have the necessary supplies to achieve their goals. Thomas Henry Huxley once said, "The rung of a ladder was never meant to rest upon, but only to hold a man's foot long enough to enable him to put the other somewhat higher." Please help my students climb the ladder to success!
