Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a first-year reading teacher at a Title I school in a predominantly Hispanic community, I am passionate about helping my students grow into confident, capable readers. Many of my students are Spanish speakers and English language learners who benefit greatly from direct support in reading comprehension.
My primary goal is to strengthen my students' ability to make meaningful connections with complex texts through the use of annotation.
With the right tools, students can engage deeply with literature—marking important details, asking questions, analyzing themes, and improving reading comprehension. With access to the right tools, my students can better express their thoughts, ask insightful questions, and deepen their understanding.
Your support will help provide the resources they need to become confident, analytical readers who are prepared for academic success and lifelong learning.
