Many of them began as reluctant readers, but because of the books you helped us add to our classroom library, they now have stories that speak to their interests and spark their curiosity. In just the first six weeks of school, they have read over 43 books—an incredible milestone that fills me with pride and gratitude.\r\n\r\nTo celebrate their growth, each student received a bookmark at the beginning of the year that they decorated and use to track their reading journey. For every book completed, they earn a ribbon tied to their bookmark, turning it into a colorful record of their accomplishments. This simple system has become a source of motivation and pride, with students comparing their ribbons and setting personal goals for what they want to read next.\r\n\r\nYour support made this transformation possible. The excitement in our classroom library is real—students are not only reading more but also recommending books to one another and eagerly looking for their next story. Thank you for giving them the tools and inspiration to become readers who are motivated, confident, and proud of their progress.","fullyFundedDate":1745186354310,"projectUrl":"project/building-belonging-through-books/9262336/","projectTitle":"Building Belonging Through Books!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Riojas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9991771"},{"teacherId":9480914,"projectId":9039445,"letterContent":"Our Wild Lens project has given students a hands on way to experience both technology and the natural world. The cameras allow students to capture real images and videos of wildlife, which they then study to identify species, track behaviors, and understand animal adaptations. For several students, this has been their first time using this technology, and it has transformed abstract lessons into real, tangible learning.\r\n\r\nWhat excites our students most is the element of discovery. Every time they check the trail cameras, they never know what they might find, sometimes a fox looking for food, a pack of coyotes passing through, or deer grazing. This sense of surprise keeps them engaged and eager to learn more. \r\n\r\nSome students who are usually quiet in class have come alive through this project as they take the lead in identifying species from the footage, proudly sharing finding with classmates. Others now feel confident setting up equipment and transferring the information on to their Chromebook. These shows how Wild Lens is not just teaching science, it's building confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong curiosity about the world around them.","fullyFundedDate":1741402662581,"projectUrl":"project/wild-lens-exploring-biodiversity-throug/9039445/","projectTitle":"Wild Lens: Exploring Biodiversity Through Trail Cameras","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Maldonado","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9480914_orig.jpg?crop=272,272,x492,y400&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721770460950","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mr-a-maldonado"},{"teacherId":7117052,"projectId":9166933,"letterContent":"Thanks for your financial support to our sewing class.
