This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I'm a 2nd grade dual language teacher working with curious and hardworking students who are learning in both English and Spanish. My class is full of unique, enthusiastic learners who thrive on engaging stories that capture their imaginations and help them grow as readers. This Diary of a Wimpy Kid Book Project is designed to provide my students with the complete series of Diary of a Wimpy Kid books (Books 1-19) and fun, multifunctional pens that make reading and note-taking an exciting experience.

These books are highly relatable and full of humor, helping students connect with characters and improve their comprehension, vocabulary, and love of reading.

The pens will be used for interactive activities, such as journaling, highlighting favorite parts, or illustrating scenes from the stories.

My goal is to foster a love of reading while building students’ literacy skills in a way that feels accessible and fun. My students are special because they work hard every day to master two languages, and having these books in their hands will empower them to build confidence in both English and Spanish.
