This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our track program is home to some of the most committed and hardworking students and athletes in our school. These young individuals consistently show up, determined to improve their speed, strength, and overall performance. They are dedicated not only to their personal growth but also to the growth of the team as a whole.
However, as a low-income, rural community, our school faces unique challenges when it comes to providing the resources and equipment needed to help our athletes reach their full potential.
Fundraising efforts often fall short due to the limited financial capacity of the community, making it difficult to acquire the tools necessary to enhance our training.
One crucial resource we are seeking is a variety of medicine balls with different weights. These will allow us to diversify our drills and exercises, catering to the range of abilities and needs among our athletes. From improving explosive power to refining coordination, medicine balls would be a game-changer for our training sessions.
Our goal is to equip our students with the tools they need to not only excel in track but also gain confidence, discipline, and a strong work ethic that will serve them beyond athletics. With the right resources, these kids can continue to defy the odds and showcase the talent and potential that our small community has to offer.
We are grateful for any support that helps us provide these students with the opportunities they deserve. Every contribution makes a difference in helping them chase their dreams and achieve greatness, both on and off the track.
