Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
What I love most about my students is their resilience, creativity, and incredible capacity to grow. Many of them are on the autism spectrum or navigating emotional and developmental challenges, yet they come to school each day eager to connect, learn, and express themselves in their own unique ways.
By incorporating elements of climate and environmental awareness into our Dramatic Play Learning Space such as pretending to recycle, caring for plants, or learning about the weather students will begin to build a sense of responsibility and connection to the world around them.
These playful, hands-on experiences will help them understand how their everyday actions affect the environment and how they can contribute to a more sustainable future in an age-appropriate and meaningful way.
Creating a Dramatic Play Learning Space offers my students a powerful and inclusive opportunity to explore their emotions, build social connections, and develop communication skills in a natural, supported environment. Whether they are role-playing visits to the grocery store, caring for animals, or acting as community helpers, students gain real-world understanding through imaginative scenarios that reflect everyday life.
By supporting this project, you’re helping to create a space where imagination sparks growth, and where students learn to care for themselves, each other, and the planet. It will be a safe, empowering, and inclusive corner of our classroom where every child can thrive.
