Building Skills and Creativity: A Woodworking Experience For Students
Help me give my students WEN 6524 Oscillating Belt and Spindle Sander so we can create projects for our newly formed shop class to build reflection benches, book cases and other items for our school.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
All of my students are special needs. They learn best by completing hands-on projects. Every day, they come into class eager and ready to learn. They take nothing for granted. These tools will help my current and future students not only practice academic skills such as math and science but they will help strengthen their fine and motor skills. Additionally, students will further develop their hand-eye coordination skills, they will learn to follow instructions and learn to communicate and work as a team. Students will work on items such as stools, plant stands, books shelves and cabinets. The ultimate goal is to expose students to working with their hands, foster self-confidence and feel a sense of accomplishment.
