My students need colored paper, pencils, erasers, pens, and notebooks to help build their financial literacy through a classroom economy.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Ormsbee's classroom raised $300

My Students
Remember that first paycheck you received after two long weeks of working your first job? The excitement you had thinking of where you were going to spend it? My students love applying for and receiving their new job assignments for the year, which begins their journey into financial literacy.
My students attend a Title One school where the majority of the population receives free lunch.
There is a lot of diversity within the school and many opportunities to learn from one another. My students range in abilities and languages spoken. They are diverse learners who thrive for knowledge.
My Project
The resources in this project will help run my classroom economy. The paper is used to print money and checks to be distributed to the students after they complete their jobs. The notebooks, pencils, and erasers will help the students keep track of their financial goals and their spending. Bankers will use the pens to write checks, help with the deposits and withdrawals, and keep track of each student's monthly rent.
Financial literacy is such an important skill that needs to be taught early.
Students learn how to budget the money they earn, take care of the supplies they have, and gain a sense of ownership and responsibility within the classroom. Les Brown once said, "If you take responsibility for yourself you will develop a hunger to accomplish your dreams." Please help my students build the responsibility needed to fulfill their dreams.
