My Students

The students at our school come from a diverse population in an urban school district. All my students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and about 18% of students have special needs, which include students with severe autism. The students in our school are fun-loving, kind, and full of energy, and they come to school ready to learn on a daily basis.

My Project

I am looking for fun, new ways to teach our students how to be good friends while providing incentives in coming to school. I believe board games, including Mouse Trap and Connect 4, will help the scholars become more confident in becoming better friends with others.

Board Games are a great way to help foster my motto "Team Work Makes the Dream Work." The requested Popits are a great way to get the scholars to focus and redirect any type of negative behavior to something more positive.

When a scholar can successfully redirect themselves with a sensory device or become a better friend it makes for a better learning environment for all.
