Help me give my students an opportunity to build relationships through team sports with a sports kit full of footballs, basketballs, volleyballs, and kickballs.
We are all in this together is our school's motto. Our school is full of diversity and spirit that is celebrated in every classroom, hallway, student, family and educator. We honor the over thirty different countries represented at our school and learn from them daily.
Our school has nearly 530 students and has 60% of students receiving free or reduced rate lunch.
We range from Pre-K through fifth grade classrooms. We have a wide variety of independent classrooms and multi-age pods to allow children to build relationships with students and adults as they grow and learn. Project based learning helps propel our students into student led teaching and learning through Maker Space building and exploration.
Our learning spaces are inclusive, meaning special education students will be found in every single room. We come from mixed backgrounds and all types of learning preferences. We love to learn through hands-on exploration, with technology, and as a team.
My Project
Teamwork and collaboration are a large part of our daily interactions. Giving children materials, such as the Six-Color Starter Set and FiddleSTX set, and the opportunity to work together through sports provides limitless hands-on learning and sportsmanship lessons that carry on into our learning space.
Exploring through sports helps kids actively build relationships with others and provides them with the resources they need to cooperate while sharing and having fun!
Recess and sports allow children to take the classroom outside and strengthen bonds that can translate into trust and friendship. Actively engaging with others at recess helps to bring down walls that children may have and give them the confidence to reach out to others for support.
