This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students live by the C.A.R.E.S. core values - Caring, Appreciative, Responsible, Empathetic, and Steadfast. All of our students show grit and determination even in the face of uncertainty. Everyday, our children show up and we do our best to guide them in their learning process.

As a teacher and a parent, we want nothing more than to know that when our children go to school each day, they are entering classrooms that have all of the necessities they need to stay engaged and eager to learn.

This year, students are building their reading stamina by challenging themselves to read by setting attainable goals based on their reading levels and interests.

My Project

I work with a mixed group of students that have an array of needs from being educationally behind from learning disabilities to students that are at or above grade level. I want to nurture every student's reading life with interesting texts regardless of where they may be. The students peruse the library and read the book jackets and inside covers to determine if a book feels just right. The selections I have chosen are all from student input. If my kids are asking for reading material, I do my best to get it to them because getting them interested is half the battle. Please consider donating to this very important project. Our students will all be better for it!
