My Project
As the end of the school year approaches, I want to build reading motivation by completing novel studies with my title one reading intervention groups. With so much emphasis put on standardized testing throughout the year, students do not get the chance to read authentic literature as often as they should. Once testing season is over, we will have about a month left of school which allows us the perfect amount of time to study an engaging novel and end the year in an encouraging way.
Reading should be a positive experience and my goal is to help students establish a motivation to continue reading throughout the summer and beyond.
This project would allow me to get two sets of chapter books for my 4th and 5th grade students. I am hopeful that this project would help build a solid foundation of reading enjoyment and enhance reading skills for years to come.
