Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come to school full of wishes to learn. Our first grade class comprised of 17 wonderful students. They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, questioners, and spontaneous.
I teach at a school in Texas and the majority of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
The past year my students and their community were affected by Hurricane Harvey. But they don't give up, they want to learn and do their best everyday. They are eager to learn and expand their minds.
My Project
Students will be using the mini iPads during centers. I would like to make my center more technological. I am requesting for 4 iPad minis to help them to improve their learning process. Using these iPads and research-based programs will improve their reading skills. Having a set of iPads in my classroom will allow me to create STEM centers and download research based programs for reading.
This technology would give my students a chance to build, practice, and improve their reading skills.
My students are bilingual first graders building base of reading skills. The majority of my students do not have computers or an internet connection at home.
