Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a kindergarten classroom. Many of the students in my classroom are from low-income households.
In my classroom, students learn from hands-on experiences and engaging learning experiences.
I believe that learning takes place when students are engaged, confident, and excited to learn.
My Project
This project will help my students build confidence in reading and learning from their first day of kindergarten. Students will come into the classroom and will hear a read aloud about starting school to engage them in learning and help them get excited for school.
The early reader sets will help students build concept of word, letter-sound recognition, and reading confidence as they practice reading words.
A class set of these readers will allow students to take the books home to read and showcase their learning to their families, helping build positive relationships between school and home.
