My Students

My students are newbies to middle school (and so am I)! They are sixth graders who are in a place where everything will seem new, exciting, and scary at the same time. I will be a familiar face for many of them because I am their former third grade reading teacher who took a HUGE leap to middle school ELA!

So technically, we are starting this middle school journey together.

One of the things that I know about this group of incoming sixth graders is that they are voracious readers and are always looking for the next thing to read, so a large and diverse classroom library is essential to keep this kiddos engaged and thriving!

My Project

My classroom will touch the lives of over 100 students who will have access to quality and diverse literature with your help. The books in our classroom library will not only be for individual student reading, but used in small group work and literature circles.

A large and diverse classroom library can open up spaces for learning for students.

The more books that my students have access to, them more reading experiences they will have which will strengthen them as readers.

These books will provide opportunities for my students to freely choose what they read and explore the awesome world of reading!
