I am blessed to work with second to fifth grade GT students every week! The students are thrilled to have the opportunity to learn new and different topics for each class period. Eighty-two percent of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Many of my students need additional opportunities to further advance their knowledge bases. My students need the chance to understand human capital, capital resources, human resources, and natural resources through a building experience.
By providing my students with a wide variety of resources such as books and building materials, they will have the opportunity to learn economics through a plethora of experiences.
The diversity in my classroom is represented by ethnic, socioeconomic, and academic differences. By incorporating hands-on resources, my students will be able to make valuable connections between academics and their lives.
My Project
In tomorrow's workplace, employers will need to employ people with a wide variety of entrepreneurial skills! My students are future leaders and need to be prepared to lead problem solving in all areas of work and life.
My students need the building materials and self improvement books to build their leadership and problem solving skills!
The books like a Little SPOT of Confidence, I'm Stretched, and The Do-Over Day will be used to teach and reinforce positive self and leadership skills. My students will be given STEM based challenges that will help them to work on their problem solving skills. The STEM Challenges will use the Brain Blox Wooden Building Blocks for Kids, ZP ZaoProteks 3 in 1 Building Block Sets, and Snap Circuit’S “Arcade”, Electronics Exploration Kit. The Ziploc storage boxes will be used to store the variety of building materials. Each of these items will make a difference in the lives of a child! Please help make this project a reality!
