Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a Title I school, where 95% of the students come from a low-income household and 100% of the students receive free lunch. In a low-income, urban school district, my third grade students are faced with several challenges that affect their ability to learn and grow. Due to COVID19, they are facing even more challenges. Despite the hardships, I want to provide my students with deep, meaningful, and creative learning experiences.

My third graders are motivated learners who strive to grow each day, regardless of the circumstances they are in.

My students come from different backgrounds, which means they all have different strengths and needs. I strive everyday to enhance their strengths and meet their needs. Although I can't change their past, I know I can help make a difference in their future by creating a positive learning experience in the virtual or physical classroom. My desire is for my students to be LIFELONG learners and find JOY in learning, both inside and outside of my classroom.

My Project

As we enter the upcoming year, we are going fully virtual for the first semester. With that being said, it will be difficult for me to use the same materials I used in the physical classroom. Therefore, I will need many new VIRTUAL resources for my students to complete virtually on Google Classroom.

As we enter virtual learning, these resources will provide DIGITAL literacy, math, science, social studies, and writing materials for my diverse group of learners.
