My Project
My students are creative, curious, and excited for learning!
They are never more happy than when given hands-on, fun activities that allow them to explore new ideas.
However, many of my students also face challenges that make learning difficult. Some struggle with self-control, focus, and problem-solving, while others bring social-emotional learning (SEL) needs that impact their ability to engage in traditional lessons.
With this project, I aim to bring interactive manipulatives into my art classroom to create a fun, creative, low-pressure way for all students to build their creativity and SEL skills. The 3-D building materials like PicassoTiles help them bring their drawings to life. They are often used in groups, helping students to interact socially in an increasingly screen driven world. It is a joy to see students working to help each other, and complimenting each other on their creativity.
